Rental cars in Venice

A driving license, a passport, and a credit card are required to rent a car without a driver at Venice Airport. In order to avoid conflicts with the police, having an IDL is a good idea.

A compact car can be rented for as little as €9 per day. The price of the package includes coverage for carjacking, collisions with motor vehicles, tolls and airport taxes. You will be subject to the latter if you rent a car at the airport on your day of arrival in Venice.

In the city center, there isn't much parking available on weekdays, so it's more convenient to park in remote areas. There are some historic districts in the city where cars aren't allowed.
