Blue Sky, a South Carolina artist, created a marvelous, 50 x 75 feet large, public artwork on a wall. This work is the painting of a tunnel that is so real one might think it’s an actual tunnel.

The painting is so great and detailed that there have been constant close calls, where people nearly drove into the painted wall. Tourists are left amazed each time they see the painting, and it’s something that you have to see to truly experience the artistic genius and hard work of Blue Sky.

Learning about the history of Black Americans can be very impactful and enlightening. The African American History Monument talks about black South Carolinians from 1619 to the present day. 

On the walls in front of the building is a wall sculpture of slaves back then who had been subjected to so many horrific things and later given freedom. With a tour guide, you get to learn about how the black Americans of South Carolina gained freedom and the process they passed through to get that.

The items in the museum include weapons that date back 1600s, and old wheeled and tracked military vehicles that were used to conquer their enemies. Items like artillery have always been a very important tool in war to date down to radios boots and flashlights used back then. 

26. Worlds Largest Fire Hydrant

Created by the great artist Blue Sky is the world’s largest Fire Hydrant. It was unveiled back on February 18, 2001, although the date also marked the anniversary of Columbia’s destruction by fire during the civil war. 

This 40 feet, 675,000 pounds beauty has left both locals and tourists stunned in amazement. The design is so unique and realistic, looking tilted and broken as if it had been knocked by a truck.

Due to this design, some tourists feel it was knocked and is about to undergo repairs. Taking pictures and videos are a must when in contact with this beauty of an artwork.

27. Clinton Sease Farms

The Clinton Sease Farm is owned by the Sease family. This farm is known for its Greens, Green Onions, and Corn Maze, but each year new attractions are added to the farm. 

The farm makes available tours and school tours, to showcase the farm and some farm produce processes. This is a very amazing experience to have as you get to learn a lot about farming processes and lots more.

They allow the public to book the farm ground for birthday parties. Accompanied by this opportunity is the birthday cake package. The farm provides birthday cakes like a tractor cake, and others that look like farm produce. 

There is also the Corn Maze Birthday Party package, which includes all playgrounds, obstacle courses, and the chance for the kids to feed farm animals. They offer this package and other amazing birthday packages too.

Are you an art lover? State Of The Art Gallery And Pottery Studio offers homegrown art to both locals and tourists. They showcase South Carolina’s creative works in a casual, friendly, and relatable way. 

They offer a pottery beginner class called the wheel class for people who want to try pottery for the first time. This class is only available by appointment. 

There are also event packages made available to the public. There is the Bride & Her Beauties, where the bride gets two hours to have a bonding experience with her bridesmaid. 

Couples Retreat is also among the event packages available. This involves dinner, and a private pottery lesson together. During the private couples lesson, couples get to design and work on a piece together to reflect on their romantic journey together.

Objets like televisions, radios, stereo speakers, etc will be provided for visitors to express their various emotions and relief them selfs of those emotions. Those under the age of 16 are not allowed to engage in riot room activities without a parent or legal guardian present during the session.

37. Congaree National Park

The Congaree National Park is a park where visitors can freely explore by foot, kayak, or canoe. Activities you can enjoy around the park include Hiking, Canoeing, Kayaking, Fishing, Ranger LED Programs, and Camping.

You can stay overnight at the park in a tent camping style. There are food services within the Park. Fishing is permitted in all areas of the park, so have a fun fishing experience with family and friends, or on your own. Hiking allows you properly feel and experience the beautiful sites the park has to offer.

There are some upcoming events like the Junior Ranger Wildlife that are on the 28th of August, 2022. Your furry friends are also allowed in the park but must be on a leash 6 feet long or less. This is a relaxing and broad park to spend quality time alone or with friends and family.

38. Tapp’s Art Center

40. Columbia Civil Rights Sit-Ins Historical Marker

Among several Historical Markers is the Columbia Civil Rights Sit-ins. Erected in 2017 by Columbia SC 63, this particular marker has to do with Black American civil rights. Its writing is in reference to the five Black American students who were arrested because they refused to leave the lunch counter. This historical site pays tribute to the massive movement that came as a result of that day.
