32. Le Boudoir

Underneath Chez Moi and hidden behind a bookcase is a secret cocktail bar that offers a sexy and sinful atmosphere reminiscent of Versailles.

In fact, it’s modeled after Marie Antoinette’s actual boudoir, which you can imagine is quite over the top. While you’re there, enjoy cocktails and amazing food with live jazz and dancing.

They’ve recently reopened with a whole new lineup of cocktails and apps, so you’ll need to call to find out what’s on their new menus, but all reviews say it’s well worth the visit.

You can also eat at Chez Moi upstairs, a French bistro well known for their fantastic fare at a great price. It’s truly the best place for an evening of romance and revelry.

33. Catacombs by Candlelight

For an intimate tour that won’t break the bank, try Catacombs by Candlelight, a trip through the catacombs in the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral. This area is normally closed down to tourists, but for under $40 per person, you can take a 1.5 hour tour with a small group of people.

It’s gorgeous, serene, and perfect for cuddling close hand in hand while you walk through and learn the history of what lies beneath New York. As the name suggests, the tour is given by candlelight.

You’ll get to see the amazing Neo-Gothic architecture of the vaulted ceilings and the stained glass windows and hear the organ play its haunting notes.

Dance Together NYC is run by Simone Assboeck, who has been teaching couples to dance for over 15 years. She’s fine with teaching you to Waltz, but she would rather you be able to Hustle, Rumba, and do the East Coast Swing to songs you’ll actually hear while out and about.
