Georgia, is a mysterious country which is located at the intersection of Europe & Asia, its a former Soviet republic which is surrounded by Caucasus Mountain villages and many Black sea beaches!
Georgia borders with Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey Its culture is similar to Azerbaijan , they both offer a real mix of east & west cultures which has been isolated in the Caucasus mountains for decades. The countryside reminds me of Mongolia!

1. Step back in time at Tbilisi old town
Tbilisi is the Georgian capital, know for its maze like cobblestoned old town and variety of historic landmarks
from Cathedrals & Soviet Structures to a 4th century fortress (Narikala).
While Rustaveli Avenue, offers many high end stores, cafes and museums.
Fun Fact: In the neighborhood of Abanotubani you will discover many dome-shaped sulphur bathhouses, lots of which were built in the 17th century.
2. Visit the “Mother of Georgia”
The iconic statue of the “Mother of Georgia” (Kartlis Deda), is a really unique place to visit.
3. Be inspired by the incredible architecture of Batumi
Batumi is a Black sea resort & port city. Be sure to check out Batumi Boulevard which offers a waterfront promenade with a lush park and beach.
The iconic 130m-high Alphabetic Tower, is inscribed with Georgian script and has seaside observation deck!
The old town district is a showcase of renovated 19th-century buildings.
4. Visit the mountain church of Mtskheta

Is Georgia safe for tourists?
According to the UK Government, Georgia is a safe country for tourists, with Crime levels some of the lowest in Europe. However, like in any busy area
Be sure to not carry too much cash and exercise caution in crowded areas such as train and bus stations, airports to avoid pickpockets.

However, there are a couple of regions which the UK & US government, urges those to avoid travel to,
these are the Russian occupied breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Do I need a visa to enter Georgia?
According to the US department of state,
US citizens just need a valid passport to enter Georgia. They may enter and stay in Georgia without a visa for up to 365 days.
According to the UK Government:
British nationals don’t need a visa to enter Georgia for visits of up to one year.
If you wish to stay for longer, you’ll need to apply for a long term visa.
Citizens of more than 90 countries and territories,
listed at www.geoconsul.gov.ge, can enter Georgia without a visa for stays of up to one year!
All governments advise on a valid Travel Insurance policy before entering these countries.

When is the Best time to visit Georgia?
The best time to visit Georgia in the Spring or fall, to avoid the summer heat and winter freeze!
May, June and September are my favourite months.
The lowland area around Tbilisi are particularly hot and humid during the midsummer, while the mountains are cooler and drier.
