There are actually multiple displays set up throughout the town from the Marina District on down to the Tropicana, so you can’t miss it if you grab any spot on the Boardwalk or on the city’s many beaches. Listening to the Boston Pops while watching the fireworks really takes this to the next level … especially if the concert is live! That’s the case during the annual Boston Pops Concert Fireworks Spectacular when approximately a half a million visitors head to the Esplanade alongside the Charles River hoping to secure a bit of blanket space in the Oval.

Things are kicked off by the conductor at about 8:00 pm with a flyover during the national anthem. At around 9:30 pm, the famed Boston Pops break into the 1812 Overture … and then at 10:30 pm, the sky is set ablaze during a dazzling fireworks display.

If you aren’t into crowds, you can still see the fireworks from other areas around town; in fact, you can make it an extra special experience by renting a canoe or kayak and watching the fireworks from the river.
