It is surrounded by Lake Erie, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan. The state is also known for Cedar Point, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Pro Football Hall of Fame.  

The state of Ohio is known for its wonderful water parks during the summer. Still, you can take a splash anytime, even in winter, by visiting some of its destinations’ great indoor water parks. From heated indoor pools and spas to family-friendly water slides, there is a water experience available for everyone, no matter the weather.

1. Castaway Bay, Sandusky

Castaway Bay is located not far from Cedar Point Amusement park. This newly renovated Tropical themed resort is fun to visit any time of the year. 

No matter what fun-related activities you’re looking for, Castaway Bay has something for you and your loved ones. With fantastic water pools and numerous unique indoor water slides. 

You can visit the spa to relax. Take a stroll along the rope bridges. Or simply visit the arcade area for some games and fun. 

Castaway also has a great activity center for kids’ crafts and retail shopping. When hungry during these fun times, you can visit one of the multiple restaurants within the resort.

This water park has a fantastic total of eleven different water slides to choose from. Each of these slides provides its own unique experience. 

Kings Island amusement park also has a wave pool and two whirlpool spas. It also includes non-water-related fun activities such as a mini golf course and a bowling alley. Perfect for a family day out. 

The water park provides you with many restaurants and cafes to get a meal from. Such as the Coconut Cove Cafe and Island Smoke House. Gluten-free drinks are also available at Calypso Coolers.

Kalahari resort boasts the largest indoor water park in the entire United States of America, with about 173,000 square feet of water features. This indoor water park presents many fun activities for you and your loved ones. 

Whether it’s the zero-depth entry water playground with bouncers and slides for the younger children or the flow rider surfing simulator and water basketball for the older children, the Kalahari resorts have many options to choose from. 

Kalahari resort also has both indoor and outdoor spas for the adults to enjoy. 

Fun activities to do at the resort include. An underwater VR experience, an escape room, an arcade, a 7D cinema, Tube rides, and many more. 

The resort also has many dining options to choose from. Be it Sorinto’s for some pasta or B lux Grill and Bar for a burger. Java Manjaro also provides great coffee. 

Kalahari resort is not just an indoor water park but a hotel. This provides the guest with diverse room options. What better way to relax after a fun day at the indoor water park than strolling to your room with the same complex? 

Although there are day passes available, we recommend staying in the hotel rooms for a maximum fun experience.  

4. Great Wolf Lodge, Manson

The Great wolf lodge, Manson, is another excellent indoor water park to visit in Ohio. Great wolf lodge Manson includes a children’s play area, hot tubs for the adults, family raft rides, and plenty of slides to choose from. 

It also has themed rooms for overnight guests and non-water park activities like glow golf, bowling, an arcade, and more. 

The indoor water park also provides excellent dining options, such as the Loose Moose Cottage sit-down restaurant, Buckets’ Incredible Craveables, and Bear Paw Sweets and Eats.

You can head down to Grizzly Rob’s Bar for some adult beverages. Let’s not forget to mention Lodge Wood Fired Grill, which is ideal for a memorable dinner after a long day. 

Like the other indoor water parks on this list, the great wolf lodge in Manson also has its own hotel attached. Although there are day passes available, we recommend staying in the hotel rooms for a maximum fun experience.

5. Comfort Inn Splash Harbor, Bellville

This indoor water park is located in the comfort inn hotel in Belleville. This indoor water park is on the smaller side, with about 6000 square feet of great water features. 

Splash harbor indoor water park contains a spray ground play area. A large water slide. Water basketball hoops and two hot tubs. Hotel guests are also provided with an arcade room and a putting green.

Although splash harbor indoor water park offers complimentary breakfast for its hotel guests, it also has some on-site restaurants like Bucks, McDonald’s, and Sweetneys, where you can get a meal after having fun at the water park. It also has some vending machines with snacks and drinks for you to choose from. 

Limited day passes and towel rentals are available. 

6. Groveport Recreation Center

Groveport Recreation Centre indoor pool is a city-run water play area. This indoor pool is ideal for a day trip with family. 

Groveport Recreation Centre indoor pool features a zero-entry pool and a small slide for little children. It also includes a lazy river and a lap pool. 

Asides from the water-related facilities, The Groveport Recreation Centre also includes a rock climbing wall and a gymnasium, among others. 

Although there are no restaurants inside Groveport Recreation Centre, vending machines provide guests with snacks and drinks. Tables are also provided, making it easy to enjoy the snacks purchased. 

The Groveport Recreation Centre does not provide accommodation for guests to stay at the pool after the day’s fun, but there are hotels not far from this recreation center. 

7. Great Wolf Lodge, Sandusky

Like The Great Wolf Lodge in Manson, The Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky is also a great place for a family getaway. 

The Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky features everything you want, from a water park and more. Its facilities include a great climbing structure with interactive water features.

Fantastic water slides, Fun obstacle courses, water basketball hoops, a hot tub for adults, and a children’s playground.

This indoor water park provides various great dining options for its guests. Some of these options include Hungry as Wolf, which serves some fantastic pizza. Bear Paw Sweets and Eats provides delicious desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth. 

Gitchigoomie Grill offers a mouth-watering buffet of food for breakfast and dinner. There is also an on-site Dunkin’ to satisfy all your coffee needs while in the water park. 

After a long day of splashing and sliding in the water park, you can stay on-site, as this indoor water park is part of a hotel resort. Lodging at this hotel also comes with complimentary access to the water park.

8. Vandalia Aquatic Center

Vandalia Aquatic center is another great place to visit with family and friends for a day trip. 

This center features a zero-depth entry pool for younger children. This aquatic center has a large and a small water slide. 

It also features a vortex, bubble bench, lap lanes, and other interactive water features. 

The Vandalia Aquatic center has no restaurants or vending machines, so you might want to eat before visiting the center and make plans for meals after leaving the center. 

The aquatic center does not have any accommodations, but there are hotels nearby that you can stay in when planning to visit. 

9. Westerville indoor pool

The Westerville indoor pool is another place to go and have a fun day with family and friends in Ohio. It is located within the Westerville community center. 

Even though this indoor pool isn’t very big, there are numerous options to keep the adults and children in your group happy. 

The children’s water playground with small slides and dueling slides with lights and trackers are among some of the best attractions in the Westerville indoor pool. 

Like some others, this indoor pool has no restaurants within community centers. However, they have provided vending machines in the building to provide snacks and drinks to keep you going until you’re ready to leave. 

Westerville indoor pool does not provide any accommodations as well, but there are hotels nearby for you to stay in after a fun day at this center.

10. Mayerson Jewish Community Center Aquatics Park Features

Mayerson JCC Aquatics is located in Cincinnati. The Mayerson Jewish community center aquatic parks feature about 12,000 square feet. 

This indoor water park includes a splash zone and a zero-depth entry pool for younger children. It also contains a hot tub, swimming lanes for those who want to exercise, and a current channel. 

This community center has a restaurant, and the food is highly rated. Therefore getting something to eat after a long day at the pool should be convenient. 

This community center, like the others, does not have any onsite accommodations for guests, but there are hotels nearby where you can wind down after a long day.
